It was a mixture of the traditional and the modern. Jamie and Dina are a cool couple, very much fun loving, party savvy, groovy movin type cool. Jamie, from Muar, is of mix parentage, hence her beautiful exotic looks. Dina, well, he’s tall, dark and handsome and had previously represented Malaysia in the sport of field hockey – quite a few ticks in the ladies desireable-o-meter checklist i’d say.
Together, they look to me a fantastic match and judging from how they are together, i’m sure all who know them would agree. Now about cool.. met them about slightly under 2 months prior to their wedding – they had waited to meet up with me for quite some time (my bad – was up to my nose with assignments, etc) and when we finally did, i found out that theirs was to be a Hindu ceremony. So based on my experience, i asked, “so will it be the 2 hour ceremony or the 45 minutes ceremony”. To my amazement, “15 minutes” came the reply from Dina.. and i thought to myself, “ok, cool!”
Next, they asked me if i could shoot an event that was really important to them and i said sure, thinking it would be the registration or engagement. So, “What event, and where?” i enquired.. “Oh, just us and some friends partying at the place where we first met” came the reply from Jamie this time.. and i thought to myself, “ok, cool!”
And then came the wedding day.. I turned up to begin covering Jamie’s make-up and preparations and found that she and friends were in a very “Happy” state.. again, i thought to myself, “ok, very cool!”.. and as we went along, the trend continued..
As i now sit and type this blog update, I find that reflecting on the experience with this cool couple, that there is only one way to describe it.. It was a very very cool experience. Cheers to you guys Jamie & Dina!
